ramya lives in a lawless city beneath the gaean capital, suotamo, making her way in the world as an independent   blue-collar gunsmith, engineer and arms dealer   - on the side, competing in illegal deathmatches and gauntlets to both make a  legacy  of both her name and the weapons she promotes within them. in her shop, she takes commissions from anyone far and few between: smugglers, gangs, and syndicates alike keep her head above the waters of financial toil.    and she makes it,    just barely.

after falling victim to an   arson & assassination attempt   by the hand of big sister's gang, ramya was offered a second lease on life by   kuben blisk:   a renowned war criminal and founder of the apex predators, a mercenary group of titan pilots. she took the apex card, pulled herself up by the bootstraps, and joined the roster of legends during the   sixth season   of the bloodsport's revival.generally, her popularity amongst the legends is challenged  -  she has a  backhanded relationship with the popularity  it bought to her doorstep. using it to promote her private business felt like an opportunity for the ages-- but with big sister's shadow still shrouding the back of her mind, she takes her business, the gauntlets, and her mercenary work one day at a time.

ramya parekh was born in [ VAULT ///// ] in 2262, a position secured for her by her parents who, pre-war, worked in high-priority, blue-collar positions of science and security:  wonyeon defence,  an immense security arms manufacturer and distributer that eventually made itself known in the demanding industry of nuclear power and protection. having their hands in being the working-class blue-collars that, in equal part, contributed to arming and destroying the states, they secured their legacy. but it wasn't without struggle.after [ VAULT ///// ]'s population purge, m. and s. parekh were taken out of cryogenic freezing and housed in the maenianum secundum balcony of the vault: proving their worth of primum resources and investment by working on the inner workings of the vault's engineering.  SIX YEARS LATER  they had a lone daughter:     ramya. ramya's childhood was all struggle and survival separate from the surface's radiation: born into a vault that served as a study on a society built on classism and capitalism -- indomitable socio-economic endurance contained within three-foot thick lead casing.  any "love" from her parents was a folie-a-deux love for the vault,  so ramya's companionship was found in a group of teenagers from the maenianum summum - ran by an individual who went only by big sister. from the age of 8, she was getting into trouble with other dwellers, and when the time came a year later for another population purge?  by big sister's convincing,  ramya separated herself from her parents and left for the wastelands with big sister's gang.

some years passed - people got   doublecrossed,   abandoned, or just moved forward alone. by miraculous luck and hard work, ramya survived the wild west of the surface. sometime in her late teens, she split from what was left of big sister's gang and, for a short time, travelled alone with nothing but a backpack of scrap metal. while settlements in the wastelands  dunes of dust and the dead  are far and few between, yet ramya found herself a sturdy, trade-heavy hole in the wall where she typically keeps mostly to herself and takes advantage of the fear and respect she's instilled and mongered to keep her gun business above the rest.  RAMPART'S ARMS.    guns made & modded for murder, for survival, for sittin' pretty. at twenty-six, she's a renowned businesswoman with unique and niche interest dotted through the states. living out of a refurbished ( non-working ) land-crawler she's dubbed big maude, her business is fairly well known for a trade owned by a single person - some even say it isn't great unless it's got rampart written on it.

[ BORN 1465 DR ] ramya is born to m. and s. parekh, two zariel tieflings residing in the diverse, fortified city of sundabar - the rampart of the northern faerun, a trade heavy, militaristic city that's paranoid of anyone from beyond the walls. she's an armorer and weaponsmith, well educated in dwarven and tiefling craftsmanship, and well known for her sharp blades kissed by the volcano rift everfire. her trades are well sought by those who come through the city, but her reputation beyond this is faceless.at 20 years old, ramya was amongst the ranks of young tieflings handpicked by  [ ACOLYTES OF ZARIEL ]  to train in the nine hells and serve their part in the blood war. the next three years of her life were dedicated to gruelling training amongst devils of all ages and backgrounds for what would ultimately be their doom.it takes only a year of serving as a low-ranking pawn in avernus' battlefields for ramya to break. in what she'd call her own gutlessness, she runs. and in her desperate attempt to flee the archdevil's hordes, ramya kills two acolytes. she makes use of what little time she has to escape the prying eyes of her superiors -- and escape is exactly what she does. a coward and deserter -- but unimportant enough of a pawn to slip away relatively unnoticed... if she hadn't killed two of her superiors, that is.for the first few months, it's a relatively quiet life for ramya, trying to integrate herself back into faerun without making herself known. she lives alone, knowing she can't return to sundabar, living off the land while trying to piece together what's next for her. but these questions are shortlived, when closer to a year after abandoning her post, she starts feeling eyes in the shadows and her neck burning at night … the paranoia worsens.   AND RAPHAEL MAKES HIMSELF KNOWN.  


  NARRATOR   IT'S A CRUEL VISUAL        the flesh between her shoulder blades gnarled scar tissue where the skin was split. the incision isn't neat ... almost tear-like, the nexus of trauma a network that forces its way from her scapula to her mid-back.


raphael knows desperation when he sees it -- and what fool would pass up the opportunity and revel in ramya's fear? the little tiefling as a perfect opportunity for striking up a deal, for nothing if not a little fun … so, despite the discomfort that comes with him knowing too much about her, ramya strikes a deal with the devil: he keeps her hidden in the house of hope until she's considered obsolete, in exchange for her wings and her tail.

  •     she spends two years in the house of hope.    her first year with minimal access to baldur's gate, however this restriction was eased in the second year. most of her time was spent studying raphael's libraries and further exploring more traditional, arcane means of magics.

  IN 1492,   at twenty-seven years old, ramya has her freedom once more: she integrates herself into baldarian society, albeit the poorer side of it, the odd-jobs done during her stay in the house of hope having mounted to enough for her to unofficially restart her blue-collar business: rampart's arms, a high-end armory of enchanted weapons. however,   it's a year after this   that the tiefling is abducted upon the nautiloid and implanted with an  [ ILLITHID PARASITE ] .when the ship goes down, she survives on account of the fall impact embedding her pod into the thick fat and viscera of the ship's floor. when she shucks herself from its wet epidermis, she flees the carcass of the ship and begins her journey back to baldur's gate          she can be met in act one at waukeen's rest, making the most of what's left of the settlement's brewery.

  • ramya has scarring down her back from where raphael took her wings - her horns however are discoloured bone shards, and just look like they never grew in. she hides them under her hair.

  • ramya knows of karlach before meeting her - having navigated similar circles while she served in the blood war. they've never interacted however, and ramya's role was smaller in comparison.

  • a rogue zariel tiefling, and arcane trickster; ramya's skillset relies heaviest on her dexterity, intelligence, wisdom and charisma.

  • her childhood was, for the most part, normal -  her family were in the poorer district of citizens, but ramya's development preceded her - top of her classes, an apprentice tossed between artificers and craftsmen who trained her in creating, modifying and enchanting armament. she also travelled with city-stationed traders, giving her the opportunity to make use of her wings in the wilderness.
